Ursula’s motivational speaking style owes much to her grandma Agnes.

Comic text
In case of broken image links or accessibility issues with today’s cartoon, here’s the gist of the comic:
Ruth, Noah, and Ursula are at the fair. Ruth holds a basket full of fudge, her arms laden with cotton candy, and she has two balloons as well. Noah has a basket full of caramel corn. Ursula is smirking and inspecting her new teddy bear that Noah won for her (with a note saying the bear cost $327 in midway tokens and took 6 hours of throwing balls at rigged carny games). Ursula says, “Not bad… if you practice harder and believe in yourself, maybe next year you can win me a big one.” Ruth scowls and chides her, “Ursula! A simple ‘thank you’ would have sufficed.” Noah growls. Ursula gives her blasé reply: “I’m trying to be more motivational.”
