The Dad Tax

Ursula comes to Noah looking for candy, only to find Noah's been eating her Halloween haul.
Ursula will be protesting with a “TAXATION IS THEFT” sign in 3… 2… 1…

Today’s the day that Ursula learns about taxation. And the Dad Tax is always worse when you question his tales of his own trick-or-treat efforts as a kid.

Comic text

In case of broken image links or accessibility issues with today’s cartoon, here’s the gist of the comic:

Ruth is dropping a few pieces of Halloween candy into Ursula’s outstretched hand, saying “Only 3 pieces a day, Ursula.” Ursula sulks and replies “Ugh… fine.”

Next we see her at the corner of Noah’s desk saying, “Daddy, I want candy.”

Noah doesn’t even look up from his computer and tells her “You already had today’s.” Dismayed, Ursula says “What?” Noah turns to her and bends over in his chair, saying “You think Mommy and I don’t talk?”

Defeated, Ursula groans, then spots a pile of empty candy wrappers by Noah’s mousepad, and yells, “Hey, is that—” Noah cuts her off, saying “The Dad Tax? Yes.” Realizing that Noah has been eating her trick-or-treat candy, Ursula snaps “Not fair!” and Noah grins and says “Welcome to the world.”
