Et Tu, Ruth?

Noah complains about his mother's secret-keeping to Ruth, who quickly regrets weighing in on the matter.
This is why you just nod and say “uh huh,” Ruth…

Noah wants to know if Ruth has secrets he doesn’t know… and maybe he doesn’t want to know, or he shouldn’t, but he does.

Comic text

In case of broken image links or accessibility issues with today’s cartoon, here’s the gist of the comic:

Noah is still upset about learning his mother has secrets, and he flails his arms around as he laments, “And she won’t tell me what else she’s hiding from me!”

Ruth, sitting on the sofa working on her embroidery, replies, “Well, Noah, people have a right to privacy.” Noah insists, “Yeah, but we’re family!”

Ruth rolls her eyes and says, “I mean, everyone’s got a few secrets.” Noah interjects, “But you don’t, right?”

Realizing her mistake, Ruth thinks, “Uh oh…” and squirms, saying just “Um…” before Noah looks at her, pleading, and exclaims, “You’re hiding things from me, too?!?”
