Ursula is following Noah around the sports store and still trying to argue with him about Ruth’s mission to make her take up a sport. She explains, “Daddy, they make us run in gym class and Granny Thorsen makes me do ballet and Grandma Agnes makes me do highland dance and I do archery with Duke.”
Despite that being a pretty solid amount of physical activity for a kid, Noah—who is picking out a new Speedo for himself—replies, “Uh huh. But your mommy doesn’t consider any of those sports.”
Ursula is frustrated and yells, “Gah! She won’t be happy ’til I have no time for cartoons and every minute is spent on school, sports, and homework!”
Noah, now holding a big box of lawn darts, grins and reassures Ursula: “Now, now… that’s not true.”
He pauses, then adds, “Don’t forget: you also have to do chores.”
